About Mississauga
Mississauga is a large Canadian city in the province of Ontario. Situated on the western shore of Lake Ontario northeast of Hamilton and west of Toronto, it is incorporated as a city. The city is part of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), and is one of the most populous cities in Canada.
History of Mississauga
The area that is now Mississauga was originally inhabited by the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. The first European settlers arrived in the area in the late 18th century. The town of Mississauga was incorporated in 1968, and became a city in 1974.
Mississauga Today
Mississauga is a vibrant and diverse city with a population of over 720,000 people. The city is home to a number of major corporations, including PepsiCo, Walmart, and Xerox. Mississauga is also a popular tourist destination, with attractions such as the Art Gallery of Mississauga, the Mississauga Celebration Square, and the Square One Shopping Centre.
